Ash Bernal, a filmmaker based in Colorado, specializes in commercial and documentary filmmaking. Her journey began in 2015, when a trip to Nepal led her to document the aftermath of a devastating earthquake, an experience that changed her life and set her on her current path. After college, she returned to her small hometown in western Colorado and now splits her time between there and New Orleans. Since 2017, Ash has been a core part of Hoptocopter Films, where she directs, produces, and handles post-production to create meaningful, authentic stories for a variety of clients. In 2019, she branched out to pursue independent projects and has since worked in every role across the filmmaking process. For Ash, filmmaking isn’t just a job; it’s about connecting with people and capturing the world as it is. When she’s not in the editing bay or on a shoot, she’s likely out in the wilderness, adventuring with her partner and their labradoodle.
